The renovation of a 17-year old property resulted in this distinctive villa, under the directive of the client who required a contemporary home while retaining the heritage of the region. From the ground up, the property required changes to the architecture, landscape design and interior design for a strong, cohesive finish that incorporates innovative technology and the functionality and space planning you would expect from a new-build. Inside, the villa is open and spacious, with the traditional majlis accessed from a sculptural staircase that mirrors the curves and arches of the interior space. Typically for an XO Atelier project, the smart orchestration of materials creates a feel of effortless luxury: the travertine, bronze and sand-coloured plaster accented with coloured glass and bespoke wallpaper inspired by the sunset create a dream home both inside and out.
