Cross Cafe

Cross Café transforms a former industrial warehouse into a contemporary gathering place for Dubai’s young creative community. Set within a vast open volume with nine-metre-high ceilings, the project embraces the raw character of the existing structure while introducing a bold and highly graphic architectural language inspired by the concept of connection, exchange, and intersection.

The design is built around the symbol of the cross, reflected in the café’s name, spatial organisation, and architectural detailing. A monumental freestanding black bar counter forms the heart of the space, creating a social hub where guests gather around specialty coffee, conversation, and shared experiences. Intersecting lines continue throughout the interior, expressed through custom linear lighting installations developed in collaboration with Nemo Lighting, suspended metal mesh screens, and geometric architectural elements that animate the dramatic volume.

A restrained palette of black, white, and reflective surfaces is contrasted by striking ultramarine blue accents, highlighting structural elements, custom artwork, and bespoke furnishings. Large mirrored installations amplify the scale of the warehouse while concealing operational areas, creating a dynamic interplay of reflection, movement, and light.

The result is a contemporary coffee destination where architecture, art, and community intersect—transforming an industrial shell into an iconic and immersive social experience.
